My dear mother brought me some fantastic new fabric from Loving Stitches in Fayetteville yesterday and I have attacked it like a former diabetic chasing a twinkie truck! It's from one of Moda's new lines and it's called Eva. They are the most lovely colors (pinks, lime green, and burgundy). And I get weak knees when I get around pink and lime green. They are such happy colors! Anyway-sies, I saw some one walking around with the neatest purse and I've made a makeshift pattern of a larger version of it. I used my new fabric, and if I can locate my stupid camera (I wonder if my pet blog borrowed it to take pictures of his new friends, the dust bunnies who live under the sofa, again?) I'll show you a picture of the finished product! I've found a pattern for a tulip purse and an oriental style one that I have to try next! So, here's a ponderable for today... Do sheep shrink in the rain? Okay, sorry, that's not the question, but I can't help myself. Here's the real question... what is the best way you know to hold your binding in place when you are hand stitching it on? Kudos to the person whose answer is the most original. I personally hold my binding , which is always made of the sparkling feathers of a rare purple goose that no one has ever seen, on using the fairies that I captured in the night by leaving a trail of broken Fritos and bits of DMC embroidery floss into a trap made of a refrigerator box that I've set up in my vacuum closet. Bet you didn't know that fairies love Fritos and cross stitching! Learn something new everyday!
Well folks, I am off to try to make some sense of my work table, and work on the hand stitching that I am doing on a quilt for a customer since her hands are not allowing her to finish it herself. Her husband is going to love his gift! Maybe I can bribe the fairies into helping me finish, since my blog is busy making a gingerbread house in the kitchen.
Hope I've made you smile a bit and have a brilliant day! -Connie
